Phone Tip: The “Spam” Contact

Image of iPhone SPAM contact screen. As an agent, you field calls from all over. Not picking up the phone is almost impossible, even when you don’t know the contact number. Often, these calls turn out to be telemarketers, spammers, or other solicitors. What’s worse, it’s easy to forget these numbers and answer them multiple times a week!

Here’s a way to ensure you never pick up a spam phone call a second time:

1. Create a contact in your phone’s contact software called “SPAM.”

2. When you pick up a number you don’t recognize and it turns out to be a solicitor, add the number to the existing contact, “SPAM.”

3. The next time the spammer calls, you’ll see their contact name, “SPAM” appear on your phone. You can confidently ignore the call.

Most smartphones will allow you to add an almost unlimited number of alternate phone numbers to a single contact. In the event you run out of contact room, simply make a second contact, “SPAM 2″ or “MORE SPAM” and fill it up with those pesky unwanted caller numbers.

Don’t get duped again!
