adjective:
1. Marked by doubt.
2. Not to be relied upon; suspect.

Examples:
1. “I’m dubious that the buyer thinks we’ll seriously accept his low offer, so why don’t we counter offer and see what his response is?”

2. “The bank is going to scrutinize the dubious transfer of $40,000 to your checking account, so I urge you to disclose your parents are assisting with the down payment.”
