gratuitous

Pronounced: (gra-TOO-uh-tuss)

adjective:
1. Uncalled for; lacking good reason; unwarranted.
2. Given or done free of charge.

Example:
“I generally advise homeowners not to hover during open houses or showings because of the gratuitouspressure it puts on prospective buyers. The extra stress prevents buyers from relaxing and asking questions.”
